Hero Arts August sketch

Voor deze kaart heb ik 1 van de sketches gebruikt van de HA Flickr maand challenge. Alleerst heb ik een baan afgeplakt met post-it notes zodat ik met distress inkten scattered straw en tea dye aan beiden kanten van de afgeplakte strook kan sponzen. Daarna met distress gathered twigs de achtergrond tekst (HA old french writing) gestempeld, wel voor het afdrukken hier en daar het inkt weer verwijderd van de stempel voor een speels effect.
Dan de post-it notes verwijderd en langs de randen en randje aangezet met distress marker brushed corderoy.

De bloemen stempel (HA butterfly flowers) 2x afgedrukt op een ander stuk wit papier en dit ingekleurd met de distress markers (tumbled glass, broken china, peeled paint en crushed olive). Daarna bemist met een perfect pearl biscotti mix. De afdrukken rondom uitgeknipt en op de witte strook geplakt.

De happy birthday tekst (HA find joy set) gestempeld op een apart strookje met archival coffee en gesponst met distress inkt tumbled glass. Dit verhoogd aangebracht op de kaart.

I used one of the sketches of the HA Flickr month challenge. First I masked a stroke with post-it notes so that I could sponge on both sides of the stroke with scattered straw and tea dye distress inks. Than stamped the background text stamp (HA old french writing) with gathered twigs distress ink. Removed some ink from the stamp before stamping off on the paper to get a more playfull result. Removed the post-it notes and added with brushed corderoy marker a border.

Stamped the flowers (HA butterfly flowers) twice on a seperate piece of white paper and colored it with distress markers (tumbled glass, broken china, peeled paint en crushed olive). After that misted it with a perfect pearl biscotti mixture. Cut out the flowers and adhered it on the white stroke.

The happy birthday text (HA find joy set) is stamped on a separate stroke with archival coffee and sponged it with tumbled glass distress ink. Adhered it with thick tape on the card.

ATC Hero Arts 2012 swap

Van de week viel een envelop uit Canada vol met ATC's op de deurmat, het resultaat van de internationale Flickr Hero Arts ATC swap. De ATC's komen o.a. uit de US, Canada, Nieuw Zeeland en Nederland.

This week the envelope out of Canada arrived full with ATC's, the result of the international Flickr Hero Arts ATC swap. The ATC's are from the US, Canada, New Zealand and the Netherlands.


En dit is mijn bijdrage die ik ingestuurd heb naar Karen in Canada die de swap heeft verdeeld onder de internationale deelnemers. 

And this is my entry which I've sent to Karen in Canada who distributed the swap amongst the international participants.

Card Chain Challenge - July 2012

Afgelopen maand weer meegedaan aan de CCC challenge van Deborah. Dit is de kaart die ik gemaakt heb voor Lucille in de US.
De achtergrond is eerst bestempeld en daarna voorzien van een verdund laagje gesso en naast de bloem iets dikker aangebracht waardoor ik een stempel kon afdrukken in het nog zachte gesso.

Last month I joined again the CCC challenge of Deborah. This is the card I made for Lucille in the US.
I first stamped the background and added a thin layer of gesso and next to the flower I add some more gesoo, so that I was able to stamp in it while it was still smooth.

Summer feeling

Allereerst de luscious flower achtergrond stempel afgedrukt met versamark en wit ge-embossed. Ingekleurd met de distress markers en de achtergrond gesponst met distress inkt. De vlinder gestempeld met memento black en ingekleurd met de distress markers en het lijfje voorzien van een laagje glossy accents. De newspaper background en de tekst gestempeld op een aparte strook. De kaart voorzien van een gerafelde rand en de buitenkaart nog iets aangezet met distress inkt.

I started to stamp the luscious flower background with versamark and white heat embossed. Colored the flowers with distress markers and sponged the background with distress ink. Stamped the butterfly with memento black and colored it with the distress markers and add some glossy accents on the body. Stamped the newspaper background and the text on a separate piece of cardstock. Distressed the edges of the card and added on the edges of the base card some distress ink.

ATC - Bicycle journey

Een stukje uit een oud stratenboek gescheurd en gedeeltelijk op de atc geplakt en dit besmeerd met verdunde gesso. Achtergrond gesponst met distress inkten en ook nog een deel met een template gesponst (cubist). De stempels zijn allemaal van Tim Holtz (clearset playfull journey)

Torned a piece out of an old streetmap and partly adhered to the ATC. Add gesso mixed with water on to it. The background sponged with distress inks and also partly sponged with a template (cubist). All stamps used are from Tim Holtz (clear set playfull journey)

Happy birthday

Heerlijk hoe je iedere keer wordt verrast door kleurgebruik. Ik had een vrolijke kaart in mijn gedachten toen ik deze kleuren uit koos voor de bloemen (spiced marmelade, spun sugar, fired brick, en wild honey distress markers) maar het resultaat gaf meer een vintage look. Ok ook heel mooi, dus daar op doorgegaan :-)

Funny how you can be surprised by color combo's. I had in mind a cheerful card when I picked the distress marker colors for the flowers ( spiced marmelade, spun sugar, fired brick and wild honey). But the result gave me more a vintage look. Ok also very beautiful so I took it that way :-)

ATC Beach scene

Een strand landschap gemaakt door verschillende kleuren panpastels aan te brengen op de achtergrond met post-it's om te maskeren. De palmboom heb ik  met de distress markers ingekleurd, bewasemd en afgedrukt. Daarna een beetje met water de kleuren uitgestreken. De meeuwen zijn getekend met een distress marker.

Created a beach scene by adding colors of panpastels on the background with post-it notes as masks. The palm tree is colored directly with distress markers  and stamped. After that I brushed the colors a little bit with water. The sea gulls are drawn with a distress marker.

Bloem

Deze bloem van Penny Black vind ik zo mooi......ingekleurd met mijn nieuwe distress markers, waar ik heel blij mee ben!
De french post stempel als eerste op het achtergrond papier gestempeld en toen de goosebumps erop gespoten. Na droging gesponst met distress inkten.

Stamped the French post stamp first on the background paper and than sprayed it with goosebumps. After it's completely dry, sponged it with distress inks.

Green pan pastels

Een strook afgeplakt en deze volledig gekleurd met pan pastel (bright yellow green). De Penny Black stempel Breezy hierop afgedrukt met versamark en bewerkt met pan pastel (bright yellow green shade). 
Daarna de strook voorzien van een laagje fixeer. Nadat de tape verwijderd is de vlinders (Hero Arts CL383 antique engravings) afgedrukt met distress inkt pine needles en clear embossed. De tekst (Kaiserkraft - life sentiments) afgedrukt met memento tuxedo black.

First taped a strip and covered it totally with pan pastel (bright yellow green). Stamped the Penny Black stamp Breezy with versamark and add it with pan pastel (bright yellow green shade).After that I fixated the entire strip. Removed the tape and stamped the butterflies (Hero Arts CL383 antique engravings) with distress inkt pine needles and clear embossed. The text (Kaiserkraft - life sentiments) stamped with memento tuxedo black.
