Vlinder paneeltje

Dit paneeltje was ge-accepteerd voor publicatie in het UK Craft Stamper tijdschrift, maar helaas is het tijdschrift gestopt.
Maar nu kan ik deze natuurlijk wel hier laten zien.

Op A5 formaat bruin karton heb ik her en der stukjes gescheurd uit boek en woordenboek bladzijdes geplakt. Ook heb ik nog restjes van zelf bestempeld tissue papier gebruikt.. Daarna het geheel voorzien van een dun laagje gesso. Dit om de kleuren te verzachten en gelijk een goede onderlaag te hebben voor de volgende lagen.

On a A5 size of brown cardstock I glued down randomly some torned pieces of book and dictionary pages. I also glued down left overs from self stamped tissue paper. I covered this with a thin layer of gesso, to tone down the colours and to have my background prepared for the next layers.

Met behulp van een spatula lichte modeleer pasta door een mandala stenclil gesmeerd. Zodra dit gedroogd is ben ik hier met distress oxide sprays gaan spuiten. Dit met water bemist zodat de kleuren mooi mengen en de gehele achtergrond kleurt. Na droging nog wat kleur accenten aangebracht met de Neo color II krijtjes.

Met een mixed media borstel de distress inkt hickory smoke door het zen stencil geblend. Op een apart stuk papier de vlinders gestempeld en gekleurd met distress inkt en uitgeknipt. De postcard tekst her en der op de achtergrond gestempeld met versafine onyx black. Wat garen rondom het paneeltje gewikkeld en hier op de vlinder geplakt. Tekst labels toegevoegd en met distress inkt hickory smoke de randen aangezet voor meer diepte. Met een witte en zwarte gelpen spetters toegevoegd.

Using a palette knife I added light modelling paste thru the Magenta mandala mask. Once dry I started to spray the distress oxide colours onto the background and spritz it with water to let the colours mix and spread over the whole piece and let it dry. Added some extra colour accents with NEO color II pastels.

With a mixed media brush and distress ink hickory smoke I blended the ink thru the Magenta zen stencil. On a separate piece of white cardstock stamped the butterflies and coloured them with distress inks and fussy cut them out. Stamped the postcard text randomly onto the background with Versafine onyx black. Adhered some twine around the cardstock and glued the butterflies on top of it. Added some text labels and went around the edges with distress ink hickory smoke to give the panel more depth. Added some white and black splashes with gel pens.
